Restore with Drakbackup

Postby Randymanme » Mon Dec 27, 2010 8:50 pm

Last January, I had occasion to reinstall, but I backed up my files with drakbackup. Well, now I've still got that cd, but don't how to restore my files. I note that on PCLinuxOS 2009 KDE, drakbackup is on it with a restore option. But I don't seem to have drakbackup.

I've installed the KDE desktop; no drakbackup there either. Will someone give me some directions on what do with these backed up files? I know it's been close to year since did that backup, but I'd still like see them restored on general principle.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

P.S., I just happened to recall that at the time, all the tutorials I found on how restore backed up files with Drakbackup, utilized a version of that app (that I guess was on Mandriva) different than the one on PCLinuxOS 2009, so I couldn't use those tutorials as they used an option that I didn't have.

What's the conventional wisdom of downloading a Mandriva Drakbackup?
