Printing & Print queues [Solved]

Postby gjtoth » Wed Sep 08, 2010 8:37 pm

It *appears* that my Epson RX280 has installed. However, I cannot print. Further, I can't delete anything from the print queues.

I have deleted and reinstalled the printer and cups to no avail. Twice.

Anyone?

I don't know it this is of any help, but I did not find your printer driver here:

Thanks. I've installed for the fourth time. It prints fine from the default install and I have net (which is more than can be said for a LOT of the other distros). I'm doing the first set up updates now. I have installed nothing. I have a hunch the problem lies in the updates OR after I install Digikam.

Updates are complete and I can still print! I sure hope it isn't Digikam but it wouldn't surprise me.

Well, I've installed Digikam and I still have printing capabilities. Earlier, I lost the ability to change the background after I installed Wally. I've uninstalled it but still cannot change BG without rebooting.

Do you have your own background picture or do you change the default one? Did you change theme? If I remember correct there is in System/Preferences/Appearance an "Save" function and include saving the background too..
if you want your own background though, then you must copy it to your home directory

Incredibly, after a couple of reboots, I am now able to change BGs. I've installed Freshwall and it works just fine. Everything works 100% fine! I've installed all my favorite and necessary software. So far, no hiccups. PCLOS Gnome is very impressive. I don't know what I did this time around that I didn't do before but it works and that's what counts in the end.

......In pclos gnome, you can go into the Control Center and "see" how many printers are installed....etc.. :?:

If you have overlapping/multiple installs, you can remove them from here...

Make sure your printer is the "default"...etc...
