Suddenly Hero..

Postby HarzVieh » Thu Jun 18, 2009 3:22 am

Baa.. suddenly I am a Hero.. somewhat intimidating having so many stars..
I suggest you give something between "full member" and "Hero" something like
"full swollen member" or "not so brave hero" or something.. :|
in my case it would be: "even a blind chicken find sometime a corn" to reward my
achievements..

Oops! You've been demoted! To a rank I can but dream of as yet.
My PCLinuxOS system may be small, but it's perfectly formed. Compaq iPaq desktop PIII 1ghz with 512mb & a 20gb hdd. What more could you need? Machine# 403801 at Linux Counter.

a rank I can but dream of as yet

you will be there.. eventually.. if you take this distro seriously..
@Don, thank you.. now it's more like me.. an notorious no CLI operator..
@Bastard, yea.. that's more appropriate reaction to the whole issue.. :P
but some steps in between the rankings would be possible I think..
I wait for the others say their opinion..

Still.. something must be done, to my opinion.. like Knome is very good in resolving issues, and Sarcastic Bastard can't have more than his current status is now.. more gradient improvement will be still nice to have.. gradual coloring of stars maybe.. :?:

Mmm, point taken, I bit more "variance" in the ranks might be good, but I have no idea what's involved in playing with forum software. I only realised the other day I'd posted over a thousand times. Has it been that long already? :p

Yeah, but you earned the shortcut mate. No one can say otherwise. :)

Yeah, but you earned the shortcut mate. No one can say otherwise. :)

Agree with that.. you saved the forum.. now, maybe I am asking too much, because like Sarcastic Bastard say, we do not know how difficult it is, change something in this direction.. that's why I wanna discuss if we want do something, and when yes then what..
Linear progression of post count and growing stars do not reflect the real value of poster.. it would be nice, we do have some promotion independent of this time flow mechanics.. 8)
@Sarcastic Bastard.. I like your new avatar more than the previous.. for some reason I did always think it was a cross, until I asked about it..

I don't think it's a matter of the "value" of the poster mate, but of their contribution of their time and efforts. :)

Well.. Stephen is not watching over my shoulders for my English.. so it's probably wrong word.. what I mean is we should have some mechanics to promote someone (and I am not speaking about myself here.. ) like Knome.. so he do have some additional incentive to stay.. 8) because this is our small free world, we should have some other means of appreciation.. aaa.. I am coming to my limits of expression with my English on this.. :|
