Virtualbox guest additions

Postby badmotor » Fri Apr 24, 2009 8:01 pm

Hi guys,

I've been able to get pretty much everything to run on PCLinuxOS 2009.1 fine, except Virtualbox - managed to get it running after installing a couple of times, but it kept telling me that Guest Additions are not installed? I managed to find Guest Additions on the Virtualbox site, and saved to the correct folders in Virtualbox, ran it as root in my guest installation (Mandriva) but it gave an error in the terminal and said that it couldn't be installed.

Anyone else have trouble with this?

Virtualbox and everything related to Virtualbox is in the PCLinuxOS repos. It all works if you install using the facilities provided by the Synaptic Package Manager.

Yeah, the reason I did it that way was that Synaptic said it was installed - but Virtualbox said it wasn't. I'm not sure why I'm the only one having problems with this.
