All these firefox folders ?

Postby gb5uqx » Sun Jul 05, 2009 6:11 am

I now have a complete set of firefox folders from 2.0.0.14 right up to the current 3.0.0.11 in /usr/share/ and wondered if they were all necessary now. Not only are they using space but I have problems with ff not using stored passwords for some sites/forums and even if I type in the password manually I just go back to a login screen and it got me wondering. I suspect it is a problem with this current version coz it was ok before but thought I'd ask about the growing number of 'redundant' ff folders which looks set to grow perpetually.

Hi,

you can manually delete all the Firefox files you don't need (make sure you don't delete them all by leaving at least Firefox 3.0 !) and as for the thing about constantly entering passwords etc, you need to go to > edit > preferences > and check exactly what settings you have because I have mine set to delete all online info including passwords after leaving Firefox.
So check out your Privacy and Security settings I think that's where you will find the problem.

Hope this helps and have a good one. :D
