LVM

LVM

Dear all,

I'm new to use PCLOS and I'm trying to install PCLOS 2009.1 in LVM2 partitions. After some troubles I was able to create LVM partitions and install PCLOS on its.

But when I boot the system, it stops because isn't able to find /dev/root. So using the livecd I had mounted the lvm partitions, chrooted in its and
I had installed lvm2 package, without any result. I'm unable to boot into the new system.

There is a way to use pclos with lvm partition?

Thanks
ENrico

Its been awhile, but if you are still interested, this might help (..not exactly your situation, but similar):

http://www.pclinuxos.com/index.php?opti ... #msg384523

My LVM partition is mounted as /share, not / ..but here is my /etc/fstab entry; modifying it to your situation might solve the problem:

Code: Select all
# LVM ..added by TN from mtab
/dev/mapper/shared-1 /share ext3 rw 0 0
none                    /dev/shm       tmpfs   defaults   0 0

I think that grub needs a non raid / non lvm partition for /boot in order to load the kernel and kernel moduals for lvm and / or raid
