[FIXED] Root Terminal broken

Postby gb5uqx » Wed May 20, 2009 1:38 pm

I cant get root terminal to open from the menu, nothing happens. I can successfully su to root as user no problem, but also trying to open a root terminal with gksu -l /usr/bin/gnome-terminal generates this output:

Code: Select all
[dave@dave-134e4 ~]$ Failed to contact the GConf daemon; exiting

I looked through the threads and found posts relating to su and gksu but nothing covers this issue or suggests a fix..

Updated today and this was the result. Was fine yesterday.. :?

This is a known bug in gnome-terminal:

I'll see if I can patch gnome-terminal...

OK, problem fixed. I sent the updated rpm upstream.
