cdemud FAILS to start [SOLVED]

Postby bit_flipper » Tue Jun 02, 2009 10:25 am

Watching the messages scroll by during boot up, I noticed that cdemud FAILS to start. After trying to start it manually and poking around in /var/log/messages I see the following entries:
Code: Select all
cdemud[5999]: open(/var/lib/run/cdemud.pid): No such file or directory
cdemud[5999]: Could not create PID file: No such file or directory

/var/lib/run/ ???????????
Shouldn't that be: /var/run/ ?

Let me rebuild libdaemon and upload it with those options.
Thanks!

Yep, that does the trick

[root@localhost SPECS]# service cdemud start
Starting cdemud: [ OK ]
[root@localhost SPECS]# service cdemud stop
Shutting down cdemud: [ OK ]

I have been having the same issue on two PCs.

So to fix this, I would reinstall cdemu from the repo?

1. Start Synaptic Package Manager
2. Click button: Reload
3. Click button: Mark All Upgrades
4. Click button: Apply
5. Exit Synaptic and restart the cdemud daemon
