Here we go again !! :D :D :D

Could somebody explain to us lowly members who care, why we see people loosing mods and admin status by the truck load, then getting even banned from the forum altogether?

I believe the latest victim was hootiegibbon, which I personally hold in very high regard for more reasons than one. Are we loosing the plot completely in order to feed some selective egos? Are we going nuts? No?

Please explain!!

This link would seem more direct:

very astonishing... particularly after reading one of the Texstar's latest tweet, the "trouble makers" would not to be the one(s) I thought ?

/me trying to install a fresh pclinuxos openbox, and struggling hard against new bloat-depends... :/

I would like to give a detail about that : I can access only by using a proxy website. Else I get this message:
Sorry Guest, you are banned from using this forum!
Blatent disregard for forum rules.

I will be a bit impolite there : this is pure BS. I have not disregarded any forum rule at any time.

It's ok for me because I now contribute to several other distributions where the improvements using openbox-menu are being brought, along with other little things going together such as bug reports, discussions around the distros... I would not have gone contribute to other places if I had stayed at pclinuxos mainly.

I don't know what it means. The only one of his latest pics which makes sense to me is this one:

The title of longtom's post is "Something is rotten"
The title of Texstar's tweet is "Something smells rotten"

Makes me think the two are related? But that's not the issue. The PCLOS house is being cleaned, downsized, whatever you want to call it, for reasons that appear to be personal. The attempt to keep us in the dark and not embarrass anyone isn't working. Even the real bozos are catching on. :D

Get Hootiegibbon's side of the recent events:

I had a look at the hootie link, and I do have to ask this question -

Why is it that on hootie's blog the only two respondents were those who disgraced themselves on this forum - specifically regarding Phoenix?

Not interested in the politics - just an observation.

Actually, I am interested in the politics - but it is still just an observation.

Hi,
It is not really politics as I see it, but about a few people (let's say about 3) who are a "me and myself" kind.

There is a slight but sure difference between someone making a mistake (I did some and was about to correct it) and some trying to get control on other persons, curiously, even through something as Free software sharing. I don't complain anyone there. Not even myself. ;)

I will add that I don't like communities where free expression is banned, so I'm better out than in.

The best philosophy I read related to Free software is "be polite, be helpful" (Linux Chix "about" page), the Debian social contract, and the (distro whose name is not allowed in the other forum) Code Of Conduct.

"The road is long, but the $PATH is Free !"

Image

Let's continue !

<out of topic="packages depends"> Have you noticed something strange related to packages tied to Calibre ? ie : task-printing-hp, Okular (see turzin's post at the other forum about Minime and Okular linked strangely to Calibre). I got a terrible bunch of depends yesterday to reconfigure a printer... </out of topic>

Hmm, where's the "Like" button? :p

I most especially agree with this "I will add that I don't like communities where free expression is banned, so I'm better out than in.". If I wanted to deal with forum-nazis I'd try dealing with the Fedora forums again. :)
Remember this, the only stupid question is the one you don't ask.

"The thing about changing the world... is that once you do it, the world's all different."

Let's share our knowledge. Otherwise, what's the point?

It's amazing how after all this time OP still manage to fool people into thinking that he is the good guy. In time OP succeded in droving away people in flocks (when not banning them directly for not being good ass-kissing obedient sheep) and done more harm than good to PCLOS.
"Thank you mighty OP, you are so this and that..." Give me a break, how can people be so blind?

Of course, feel free to disagree.

Hi dubigrasu,

Have you been a pclos user since before 2008 ? (It's just a question, don't see any harm I am just curious, having known a little part of the history about the former "big split" which occurred then)
