We are shooting for a 2.6.31 kernel in the next pclos gnome release so maybe that will work out for you.
Shouldn't be too long now.
The news I was waiting for ! \o/ !
New remasters to do soon ! ^^
Well sorry I have to redo the last Gnome remaster, for the language to be bilingual : it is bilingual for the Xfce and the Kde version but not the Gnome one (just have to reinstall the en-EN locale, not much trouble).
For the kernel 188.8.131.52.tex5, I was told that it DO NOT boot on scsi drives, as well CD/DVD devices as on USB : joanmc, are your drives SCSI drives ?
If you don't know, you can use some command lines to find out : such as lshw as root and see on the cd/dvd line what is in the line "capability".
Yesterday a french buddy who comes regularly on #pclinuxos-fr chan reinstalled new, with my Gnome version, and the only problem he met with was he couldn't boot... until he tried the safe video mode with vesa. The rest works flawlessly, on his laptop, a eMachine e510. (Cpu sound card and so on from Intel)
For the SCSI boot, I have been told a way to redo the initrd so that scsi be possible to use, I think I want to try that.
