Back to Gnome

Postby radicallymoslem » Mon Sep 27, 2010 10:17 pm

Tried to break these cheap laptop Axioo MNV with Linux distro. From Ubuntu to Mandriva to OpenSUSE, always back to PCLOS.

But PCLOS KDE 2010 always force me to hit the mixer button everytime I want to use earphone. No thrash can on LXDE, E17? Haven't finish downloading it. XFCE? Don't like it, sorry. Gnome? Screen is horrible during installation.

What should I do? So I installed Gnome on this machine while praying to god, hoping it would work. And He answer my pray. Now this laptop is running Gnome perfectly, alone, no dual boot with the flying windows. And one who use it is my wife. The hardcore gamer leaving Windows for good, after knowing that PCLinuxOS can run Millenium Warfare series and Fallout series without hassle. And she is PCLOS Gnome user ever since, she said KDE 4 is hassle. Unfortunately this laptop can't run any of this games.

But she had her desktop, she use the laptop to run Facebook time management game.

Born, get old and die, it's the cycle of live. I'm not afraid of death, I'm afraid I can't do something good before I die.

Or, you know, you could hassle the game maker to make a linux port. :)

The wine guys do an excellent job considering they have to work everything out themselves, and microsoft keeps changing the APS's. :)
Remember this, the only stupid question is the one you don't ask.

"The thing about changing the world... is that once you do it, the world's all different."

Let's share our knowledge. Otherwise, what's the point?
