1. No. There are zero reasons to have two file managers on a "mini".
2. Why not? If you like it, add it from the repo, not everybody intends to download and use 500 mb worth of office programs and Java, again, this is a true "mini', a platform on which to build your own system, there are plenty of other re-masters that I have posted that have extra programs, I think I left lomanager on the last one.
But thanks for dropping by Andy, I always appreciate your thoughts even if I don't agreesheesh, I left Fizzlefox on this one, thought that alone would make you happy mozilla fan-boy

lomanager suck, offline install is better. pclinuxos is not developing it's own version of libreoffice. so why do we need that stupid lomanager?

Dragynn wrote:Dude, chilli'm not the person who took over Zen Andy, this is a user remaster, as i've taken great pains to state repeatedly.

I will be back to bust your chops later!

When you hit the "lock screen" button in the menu, it locks it, and offers a simple gtk window to input your password etc. to unlock, this is fine, but the problem is, the background is a glaring microsoft blue, which doesn't work at all with the theme. I don't see a background jpg or png for this, so I think gtk is just drawing it blue, and I would like to change that to black. The config file is in /usr/share/gnome-screensaver/lock-dialog-default.ui , and it's basically a type of xml, anybody know gtk enough to help me change this file to add black as the background?

What I was interested in is how you solved this problem?...Dragynn wrote:2. It's been bugging me since you mentioned it.
<dir name="background">
<entry name="color_shading_type" mtime="1303325812" schema="/schemas/desktop/gnome/background/color_shading_type"/>
<entry name="secondary_color" mtime="1303325812" schema="/schemas/desktop/gnome/background/secondary_color" type="string">
<stringvalue>#000000000000</stringvalue></entry>

Dragynn wrote:Probably an easier way to do this, some GUI area that I missed, but here's how I did it:
/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults/%gconf-tree.xml
scroll down to line 189, this is where "<dir name="background"> starts, here's how I modified mine:
..........................
Note that color codes are 12 character in this file, it goes by pairs, so if your chosen color is #AD76BE say, then you would enter it as #ADAD7676BEBE.
I haven't tried since then, but I believe opening gconf editor and navigating to desktop>gnome>background and editing the background primary color there, might do the same thing, be sure to re-boot after changing these settings to apply them properly. Let me know if the gconf editor method works willya?
I found other areas that I can't even remember now, that looked like they had something to do with it too, lotsa this mess in gnome, multiple config files that all try to configure the same thing....stoopid stuff, trying to root this extra garbage out bit by bit.
*EDIT* now I remember the other place (i'm bad about documenting stuff, that's why I post so much, so at least it will be here)
/etc/gconf/schemas/desktop_gnome_background.schemas
I changed the colors in there too, that may have been what did it, or just overkill...there's like 4-5 other files that also claim to control the desktop background color, it's really insane, I messed with this for literally several hours......this is all stuff that could have been fixed and gnome 2 made better, wasted code everywhere....

Oops![]()
Trying to keep it as mini as possible amigo, I really wanted to add one of the wallpapers you posted on this thread, but I thought that might be a little narcissistic![]()
I figure everybody has their own taste in wallpaper, and will likely change it after a few days (if not a few minutes), so I never put more than one on my iso's.
BTW, saw your post about VB kernel, I have never used VB, so don't have any experience with it, but what does intrigue me, is concepts for new iso's, maybe make one with a focus on VB and development?
