Mint Menu

Postby konaexpress » Mon Nov 21, 2011 4:22 pm

Hi, does anyone know how to edit Mint Menu once it is installed? For some reason I expected the menu editor to work on this but it does not. -thanks

Plenty of editing in the GUI, right-click stuff in favorites to remove. Use the dialogue in mint-menu to add stuff. Open your home file and click "view" at the top, then click "Show Hidden Files", then look for the mint-menu folder, there is an conf file in there you can manually edit, then reload the menu to see changes applied.

No problem amigo! :D Thanks for mentioning it, I had forgotten it was in the repo, I found the bug I was trying to kill, so my Zen 11.11.11 project is back on track and I think i'm definitely going to use that menu.

I still think if you are going to do your netbook edition, that you should try it using LXDE as a base instead of Openbox, lots of stuff you can pull from Neal's iso to reduce size, Openbox is just going to be a truckload of hand-coding to make it work right, are you really ready for that?

Nope! I gave up on the Bonsai/Gnome idea and I am remastering 11.11 with apps and eye candy. I did however get LXDE up on Bonsai nicely.

LXDE would make a nice and fast netbook version. The LXDE I loaded on to Bonsai is running nice. I guess I could do a netbook version of it.

The only drawback is I would want to host it over here instead of on the main forum..................... :?
