I am unable to answer your question, but I want to tell you Windows is not a distro ! A distro is a distribution : an OS with programs provided along the system !

ie : GNU&Linux distributions, OpenBSD distribution, NetBSD, FreeBSD are distributions. In Windows there is nothing distributed ! (Just Notepad and IE was I said). The other programs can be software which you can use during a limited time to test, then if you want to be able to continue using them you will have to buy a license.

I don't know if you can run Linux directly in a Mac computer. You can run it at least in Virtualbox, which I know because there is a user who does that with many PCLinuxOS flavors (and even tests them in Virtualbox. ^^ )

Ok Thx to update my knowledge ^^

rEFIt is a boot manager allowing you to choose a system to boot. It also allows to boot Linux from CD or DVD.

So if I install rEFIt, I can boot on PCLinuxOS with a Live CD ?!

I doubt that anyone here could confirm that. You have the MacBook; you'd have to try it and see.

Could you remove the OCZ drive and try the firmware update in another Windows or Linux computer??

Have you tried the OCZ forum here?...

bonne chance! :D

If it's firmware then it's installed in the SSD either using part of the drive or some sort of flashable EEPROM.

If it's a Mac driver then why can't you update it using the Mac?

Yes it's logic, it's a firmware. :)

Hi,
Congrats for your success, but I wonder why people make it complicated when having a PC with a Linux box is so simple ! Particularly nowadays ! :D

I know that this is too late to help but.......

Install rEFIt

Use bootcamp to partition the drive and reboot

insert the cd and use rEFIt to boot it

install PCLinuxOS LXDE. During the install change ACIP=on to ACIP=off

reboot the system

You can now run OSX and LXDE

if it still refuse to boot, you could you use i915.modeset=1 or i915.modeset=0 and delete the vga=788 (depending on your system)
