Hey brother! How's life treatin' ya? :D

Yep, chicken forum, I got a lot of interests, been thrown off at least 4-5 forums since we last spoke, chicken folks are pretty cool though, and not too much to cause conflict really when yer talkin' chickens, knowwhatimean?

Good to hear from you again. I have been over at whiteislandsoftware.com doing graphics and stuff. It is a gambas programming forum. Other than that?..........looking for a Linux home I guess. The guys at Porteus are kinda cool but I need a solid distro/forum to hang my hat on. (With out the politics)

I have been thinking about what you have said and I understand, it is not easy to be a Mod. I know that I have made many mistakes myself in the past and I do believe that people deserve a second chance. But I also believe that an apology should come with it. Are we talking about the same person here? He goes by the name AndrzejL? The few times I dealt with him, he was a complete asshat with nothing to say or help with but to act like sheep and dog pile on users with the rest of the Mods at PCLOS. Is this the same guy who left here with the middle finger as his avatar as a parting gesture of good will?

Jase, I think you do/did great work for PCLOS but I think you took part of the cancer with you to your new forum. As far as the rest of your users like Parnot, dJohnston and the rest, I like them and have nothing but good things to say about them.

All of this just sucks. This is why I have stayed away for a while but keep coming back because I believe in the users here in this forum......

konaexpress,

Yes its AndrzejL or Andy as we call him. He would be first to admit that he can shoot first and look after, he has been very supportive of PCLInuxOS in the past and has done a lot more for the distribution than most realize, I trust him enough to be a moderator on the fossconvergence forum.

Everyone is entitled to get annoyed and get fired up over various matters ,and judging from the date of Andy's exit from here it was very much influenced/manipulated by events that were happening at that time.

Jase

OK, I have said enough on this matter. I will take your word for it that you are doing what you have to do though I am still p!ssed at him. Water under the bridge and all that stuff I guess, hope you land on a good OS.

Good luck with that last part, lol, don't know why when all the signs say in big huge friggin letters :

OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE

...that some jackasses still think they can make rules and tell other people what they can and cannot do with that FREE OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE. But there you have it, seems like it's always some variation on that theme, control freaks that just can't stand not having things their way and trying to bully their way into making other people obey.

No worries, just make yourself a nice iso out of whatever software you find that you like, and then don't update it no matter what some "rolling release" doofus tells you. Repeat about once every six months or so if you want to try new versions of stuff, but if it ain't broke, don't try fixing it I say. Ignore the pasta twaddlers who try to tell you what you can and can't use. Life is good, been using a custom version of my Skeletor iso since I made it, fast and solid as a rock. The little woman is rolling on FMJ on her new machine I built a couple months back, loves it, only thing is the kernel sucks, but we'll try the new one, about time for a new iso anyway

We've made the best of a bad situation and will remain the same people we were to begin with. As long as the PCLOS repo supports Gnome, so will we.

So hang in there Kona. Peace out and keep us posted on what you find out there. :D

Remember this, the only stupid question is the one you don't ask.

"The thing about changing the world... is that once you do it, the world's all different."

Let's share our knowledge. Otherwise, what's the point?

True enough!

And one of the big reasons we never got near the amount of posts on this board, is because our stuff usually WORKS RIGHT. And thus we get far fewer support requests, not a whole lot to talk about if you're a regular everday user and nothing ever breaks. And a lot of the support requests we do get here, have to do with updates screwing folks, that's one of the reasons I have never recommended "rolling" with the release.

Whether it be gnome 2, mate, cinnamon, or some hybrid of the above, I say we keep the desktop environment we all know works, working for us.

And KDE still sucks. F 'em. 8)
