Gmount-iso is a small tool written using PyGTK and Glade. It allows you to easily mount your cd images. This is a frontend to the ?mount -o loop -t iso9660 foo.iso /mountpoint? command?

Convert your CDs and unprotected DVDs into ?virtual CDs? ? disc images that run directly on your hard drive, replacing physical discs and saving wear and tear on your CD-ROM drive. I also found this and I seen it getting some good comments.

It works exactly like daemon tools.. you just mount a file and an icon for the cddrive will pop up automatically. The great thing is, that linux really thinks it is a cd/dvd-drive. fuseiso just mounts the image so that you can access the files.

This is what I'm looking for, if it works as people say

I need something to work over a network as well. And I'm hoping at least one of theses prog will work.

For the CDemu you'll have to wait a bit until we get the next python-base and python in the repos.

mrZoSo,

I know it's been a long time wait (and haven't seen you around since your last post) but now that we have the new python in testing I built CDemu-daemon and its dependencies along with gcdemu and uploaded to contrib. This (gcdemu) is indeed such a nice app, just as smart and well done as its Windows cousin "Daemon-tools".

Nice. I never did have too much luck with the other app, this one sounds like it might fill the spot.

We now have CDemu which, IMO, is far better than anything else.
